Flight of Imagination

Flight of Imagination, art by Bryan Crowson. I haven't drawn an airplane for a long time until today, but in my boyhood, most of my drawings were airplanes. Airplanes and spaceships flew in the margins of my school notebooks and filled the pages of my drawing pads. This one was among my favorite childhood toys, a Mattel Hot Bird die-cast plane called Maching Bird. As it flew around my yard, held aloft by my hand, I was usually pretending it was a starship, and I was watching it soar through space.
